Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is headed to Iowa, an early sign he could be interested in running for president. Rubio will head there next week to headline a birthday fundraiser for Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad (R), one of the most influential Republicans in the state, his spokesman announced. Rubio will be in Altoona on Saturday, Nov. 17. Iowa's caucuses have long begun the presidential primary season, and it's never too early for candidates to start courting opinion-makers in the state.

The Tea Party Patriots unloaded a barrage criticism on Mitt Romney Tuesday night after news broke of President Obama's reelection.
The group released a statement blasting Romney as a "weak moderate" who was the choice of party elites in Washington. "For those of us who believe that America, as founded, is the greatest country in the history of the world — a ‘Shining city upon a hill’ — we wanted someone who would fight for us," said Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots, on Tuesday night.
