Florida Gov. Charlie Crist is not scheduled to appear with first lady Michelle Obama when she's in Panama City Beach, Fla., on Monday to examine the impact of the oil spill.
Crist's office said as of Friday afternoon the governor was not scheduled to appear with the first lady, though they noted that could change.
Crist is making an Independent bid for Florida's open Senate seat and had photo-ops with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden when they were in his state to examine the impact of the spill.
He and the president walked the beach at Pensacola on June 15. And, on June 29, he joined Biden during the vice president's visit to the Naval Air Station in Pensacola.
Crist has not said which party he'll caucus with if he wins the Senate seat.
The governor had been leading in the polls, but a Rasmussen poll out this week had Republican candidate Marco Rubio in the lead.
