Sestak, who's locked in a top-tier Senate race in Pennsylvania against Republican challenger Pat Toomey, had been under pressure from Toomey and national Republicans to return the donations from Rangel. The Pennsylvania Democrat decided to donate the contributions after Rangel was hit with 13 charges of alleged ethics violations by the House Ethics Committee on Thursday.

Sestak's donation to the pediatric cancer foundation comes from personal roots. His daughter successfully battled brain cancer as a child.
