Chamber launches Boxer attack ad

By Sean J. Miller - 09/28/10 10:50 AM ET

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is targeting Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) with a tough new ad. The 30-second spot, released Tuesday, hits Boxer for spending and her long career in Washington.

"Twenty eight years of Barbara Boxer and America is going broke," the announcer says.

The ad is airing statewide but "heavily" in the Los Angeles TV market, according to Chamber official.

A labor-backed advocacy group questioned the accuracy of the Chamber's ad.

"The fact is, the Chamber has spent millions of dollars lobbying for policies that would explode the deficit and send American jobs overseas -- not unlike [Republican Senate candidate] Carly Fiorina's record at HP," Christy Setzer, a spokeswoman for U.S. Chamber Watch, said in a statement.
