Kaine hires campaign manager

Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine stayed close to home for his Senate campaign manager, choosing longtime Virginia politico Mike Henry, who ran Kaine's successful 2005 campaign for governor.

Henry has since been involved with many of Virginia's top statewide races. He managed Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.)'s winning campaign in 2008, as well as former DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe's losing 2009 run for governor. He also served as deputy campaign manager on Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

Kaine's run against former Sen. George Allen (R-Va.) will likely be one of the marquee races of the next cycle.
