Huckabee endorses Lankford in Oklahoma

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) is endorsing Rep. James Lankford (R-Okla.), giving him a potential boost with social conservatives in his Senate primary.

"The servant leadership of James Lankford is a rarity in Washington. The idea of always being accountable, putting others first, and keeping faith in a faithless town isn't easy, but James maintains his integrity while representing Oklahoma in Congress. It is obvious that James is working to revive our great nation for the next generation of Americans," Huckabee said in a release from Lankford's campaign.

Lankford is facing Oklahoma House Speaker T.W. Shannon (R) in the primary to replace retiring Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla). Shannon is trying to run to Lankford's right and has locked up endorsements from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) and the Senate Conservatives Fund.
