Biden to campaign for Menendez

Vice President Biden will head to New Jersey in March to campaign for Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), who is up for reelection in November.

Biden will headline the event on March 19, according to an invitation obtained by The Record. The location, time and minimum donation were not announced.

Menendez is in good shape in the polls and will be well-funded in his reelection effort: he raised $1.5 million in the last three months and has a war chest exceeding $8 million heading into election year.

But his expected Republican opponent, New Jersey state Sen. Joseph Kyrillos, is a top ally and close friend of Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.), who could be a major fundraising force for Kyrillos.
