Christie set to headline fundraiser for Hagan opponent

Christie and Tillis, the speaker of the North Carolina House, will also appear side-by-side at a public campaign event earlier that day, according to the Wilmington Star-News.

The visit from a potential 2016 contender — Christie’s made no secret of his interest in potentially launching a presidential bid next year — is sure to draw buzz to Tillis’s campaign against Sen. Polling has shown her locked in a tight battle with Tillis, but most observers agree she’s the least vulnerable of the party’s four red-state Democrats running for reelection.
