The GOP-affiliated Crossroads GPS spent an additional $2.5 million in advertising in Virginia, Ohio and Montana, which is being used to slam Democratic Senate candidates for backing President Obama's agenda.
It's the latest ad salvo from a group that has already reserved $25 million for the fall campaign.
The group
hits Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) for supporting Democrats' healthcare reform law, arguing it "cut Medicare spending by $500 billion" and "raised taxes a half-trillion dollars." In Virginia, the ad
focuses on former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine's (D) support of the stimulus, arguing the bill "failed miserably," while the ad against Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio)
hits him for supporting both the healthcare reform law and climate change legislation.
The group and its sister organization, American Crossroads, are the biggest players of all the outside groups, and the ad buys are a continuation of heavy spending from the groups in the three competitive races.
