DSCC outraises NRSC for August, has more cash on hand

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has out-raised the National Republican Senatorial Committee in August, bringing in $7.7 million to the NRSC's $6.1 million.

The DSCC also has a slight cash on hand advantage heading into the campaign's homestretch, with $31 million to spend to the NRSC's $28.9 million.

The NRSC narrowly out-raised the DSCC in July, but the Democrats have been outpacing their Republican counterparts in most months this year.

Both sides spent nearly as much as they took in as the Senate campaigns shifted gears in August. The DSCC spent $9.2 million during the month, while the NRSC spent $4.4 million.
