Carmona releases final ad featuring Bill Clinton

By Alexandra Jaffe - 11/05/12 03:53 PM ET

Democrat Richard Carmona is airing one final ad, making his closing pitch one final time, during Monday Night Football on the eve of Election Day.

The ad is a one-minute closer that intersperses clips from Carmona's stump speeches with clips of him chatting with supporters. Complementary news clips -- "bipartisan appeal," from the Arizona Daily Star; "A centrist force," from the American Prospect -- flash across the screen.

The spot ends with an extended clip from the speech President Clinton gave at a recent Carmona campaign event in Tempe, Ariz.

"I can't think of a person in America who is more needed at this moment in our history in the U.S. Senate," he says of Carmona.

The Arizona Senate race remains close in its final days, and Carmona has run a strong campaign. But Rep. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) led Carmona in the two most recent independent polls of the race, indicating the red lean of the state may be too much for Carmona to overcome on Election Day.
