Sen. Manchin wins reelection, beats Raese

Early Tuesday night Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) was projected to win reelection. The race was quickly called by ABC News for the Democrat just after the polls closed. Manchin had faced Republican businessman John Raese (R) whom Manchin had previously beaten in the 2010 special election to succeed Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.).

Manchin had been expected to win the race even though early on Republicans considered the seat a possible pickup.
