By Daniel Strauss - 12/05/12 02:17 PM ET

Rob Jesmer, the former executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), is joining FP1 Strategies, the media relations firm announced Wednesday.

Jesmer served as the executive director of the NRSC during the 2010 and 2012 election cycles. He also managed Sen. John Cornyn's (R-Texas) reelection campaign in 2008 and worked on Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) presidential campaign. Jesmer also worked for the Republican National Committee and National Republican Congressional Committee.

"Rob is one of the best operatives in the Republican Party," FP1 partner Terry Nelson said Wednesday.

Jesmer joins Nelson, Danny Diaz and Jon Downs at FP1.

"Over my career, I’ve been lucky enough to work with some of the most talented and hardworking people in politics," Jesmer said. "FP1 Strategies will be no exception.  Terry, Jon and Danny are some of the best in the business and I am excited to join the team."
