Biden praises Landrieu at La. fundraiser

By Kyle Balluck - 01/26/13 10:34 PM ET

Vice President Joe Biden praised Sen. Mary Landrieu on Saturday at a New Orleans fundraiser for the Louisiana Democrat, saying she has been one of the most effective senators he has ever known.

“She always puts Louisiana first. . . . She will not stop until Louisiana’s interests are served,” Biden said before a crowd of approximately 450 people, including Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-La.), state officials and members of the Landrieu family.

Landrieu is running for a fourth term in 2014. So far, no Republican has declared an intention to oppose her.

“I am confident that Mary and I are going to continue this journey through 2014 because you are going to reelect Mary,” Biden said, according to a pool report.

“This woman has a way of doing things on the Senate floor that, if anyone else did it, would be exiled,” he said. “She has no reluctance whatsoever to make anyone angry.”

Biden said Landrieu “makes the case for Louisiana, and everybody knows that if they don’t vote with her, she’ll make their lives miserable. . . . She can exasperate the hell out of everybody and make them feel better for it.”
