Liz Cheney says she’d vote against Syria strikes

“The press will try to portray this Syria debate as a battle between wings of the Republican Party,” she said. “Don’t believe them.”

Cheney in July announced she would mount a primary challenge to veteran Sen. Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.). Her candidacy has drawn a tepid response from the GOP, with many in the party backing Enzi’s reelection.

In a July poll by Democratic pollster Public Policy Polling, Enzi was leading Cheney 54 percent to 26 percent in the primary race.
