Democratic Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes is getting yet another helping hand from a celebrity, this time singer, who is scheduled to appear at a fundraiser in Kentucky for the candidate later this month. 

Nathan Smith, who is hosting the Sept. 20 fundraiser along with his wife at their Fort Mitchell, Ky., home, confirmed to The Hill that the Black Eyed Peas member will headline the event.

It follows news that DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg has set Sen. The Hollywood executive sent out a letter urging Democratic donors to support Grimes during her swing through Los Angeles later this month, writing that "there is no more important election being held next year in this country."

And now, Grimes is due to benefit from the support of a prominent Democratic celebrity.

Smith told the Cincinnati Enquirer, which first reported the news, that offered to help the Democrat's campaign.

" is a modern entertainer and fresh and is passionate about the country,” Smith said. “I saw him when he did an event at the inauguration (of Obama). He offered his assistance to the (Grimes) campaign.”

It's unclear whether will perform or just attend the event, but tickets start at $100.
