National Review suing Cory Booker

The magazine has been attempting to get police records to verify whether Booker, a heavy favorite to be New Jersey's next senator, has embellished or fabricated a story about a man dying in his arms after being shot.

Its editor claims that the magazine has been stonewalled when asking for public records on the murder of the man in question despite the state's having an open records law on the books.

"Enough is enough. Yesterday we filed suit against the Newark Police Department, the City of Newark, and Mayor Booker to obtain the records in keeping with New Jersey law," NRO Editor Rich Lowry writes. "This suit shouldn’t be necessary, but the official obstruction in Newark has made it so. In such an instance, everyone should favor openness."
