Cue to Ehrlich-for-Senate talk

By Aaron Blake - 03/16/10 12:04 PM ET

If the NRSC could convince Bob Ehrlich to run for Senate rather than governor, that would really say something about their recruiting.

But part of us just thinks he may be trying to scare Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) into retirement.

From the Baltimore Business Journal:

Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts’ Senate race may be the catalyst former Gov. Robert Ehrlich needs to take on U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski this year.

Ehrlich on Tuesday said a race against Mikulski was “in the mix” during a Pikesville Chamber of Commerce meeting attended by a few dozen people.

The comments threw a curveball to those who expected Ehrlich, a Republican, to use the morning forum to possibly announce his candidacy for governor.
