Rice backing both GOP women in top Calif. races

Condoleezza Rice is backing California Republican Carly Fiorina's Senate bid.

The former Secretary of State said in a statement Tuesday: "Carly is an experienced and respected leader who has delivered results for those she has served in the midst of immense challenges. I am proud to endorse her today."

Fiorina's camp said the two don't have any joint events planned. But the Los Angeles Times reported, "Rice held a fundraiser for Fiorina last week in the Bay Area and plans to raise more money for her next month."

Earlier this month, Rice announced her support for former eBay CEO Meg Whitman (R) in California's gubernatorial race.
