Does Melancon support repeal?

Just about every Republican who opposed the healthcare bill is getting asked about the prospect of repeal, thanks in part to a DSCC-led effort.

But what about a Democrat who strenuously opposed it?

Rep. Charlie Melancon (D-La.) is the only Democratic House member running for Senate who opposed the bill. And in fact, he came out strenuously against it, saying it raised taxes and didn’t bring down costs enough for those already insured.

But would he vote for repeal? Repeated efforts to reach Melancon’s campaign Tuesday and Wednesday morning came up short. We’ll let you know if we hear back today.
