Palin pens op-ed in Arizona Republic ahead of McCain rally

By Sean J. Miller - 03/26/10 01:28 AM ET

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Sarah Palin's op-ed in Friday's Arizona Republic gives few new reasons to vote for John McCain.

The piece includes several well-worn phrases from 2008. "As a young congressman, John was a foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution." … "When the Obama administration proposed a nearly trillion-dollar stimulus bill, Sen. McCain gave them a little straight talk." And of course, the word "maverick."

It ends with a plea: "For the good of our entire country and the future of your state, please send John McCain back to the United States Senate."

The McCain-Palin ticket reunites Friday for a midday rally in Tucson.
