Bill Clinton to campaign for Sen. Lincoln

By Emily Goodin - 05/20/10 12:13 PM ET

Former President Bill Clinton will campaign with Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) on May 28th.

The Lincoln campaign announced Clinton will join the senator in the Little Rock area to help launch her "Countdown to Victory" tour.

Lincoln faces Lt. Gov. Bill Halter (D) in a June 8th runoff after neither candidate reached more than 50 percent of the vote in the May 18th primary.

Unions have backed Halter over Lincoln, but the former president remains popular in his home state.

Lincoln finished ahead of Halter by fewer than 5,500 votes on Tuesday.

A Research 2000 poll taken overnight Tuesday put Halter ahead by 2 points in the runoff.
