Shortly after Time named German Chancellor Angela Merkel victor of the annual distinction, Trump tweeted “I told you so” in reference to a prediction he made last month that the magazine's editors “mentally” couldn’t put him at the top of the list even if he deserved to be there.
"I told you @TIME Magazine would never pick me as person of the year despite being the big favorite They picked person who is ruining Germany,” the GOP front-runner told his millions of followers.
In an indirect response to the trash-talk, Time.com tweeted a previously unreleased blooper from its instantly iconic interview with the real estate mogul earlier in the year.
“Watch Donald Trump dodge a bald eagle,” the outlet invited its readers, providing a link to an elusive video featuring the billionaire businessman being forced to duck as the country’s national bird attempts to take flight.
