The event will begin at 1:45 p.m. with opening remarks from Obama.

Members of the cast of “Hamilton” tweeted a video announcing their visit to the White House.

The musical tells the story of Alexander Hamilton through hip-hop, jazz, rap and R&B music and is inspired by the biography of Hamilton by Ron Chernow.

President Obama and the first lady held an event in May 2009 where Lin-Manuel Miranda, who created the musical, performed "The Hamilton Mixtape." The song was renamed "Alexander Hamilton" and became the opening number of the Broadway musical.
