CNN is hosting a town hall with President Obama next week to discuss military issues, the network announced on Monday.

Anchor Jake Tapper will host the "CNN Presidential Town Hall: America's Military and the Commander in Chief” on Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. in Fort Lee, Va.

The town hall will delve into issues surrounding foreign policy, veterans and the effect policies have on the military. Audience members include soldiers and veterans, who will be able to ask the president questions.

The upcoming town hall comes in the wake of bombings over the weekend in New York and New Jersey. Following a shootout, police arrested Ahmad Khan Rahami, the 28-year-old suspect in the two bombings.

In a separate incident on Saturday night, a man stabbed multiple people at a Minnesota mall.
