President Trump wished "good luck" to those bracing for the arrival of a massive hurricane along the Texas Gulf Coast on Friday.

"Good luck to everybody," Trump told reporters when asked his message for those in Texas as he boarded Marine One with his family for a trip to Camp David this weekend.

He then tweeted "be safe" upon his arrival.

Trump has spoken with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) ahead of the storm, which is expected to make landfall on Friday evening.

Both Texas and Louisiana have declared states of emergency ahead of the Category 3 hurricane, and citizens in the coastal regions have been encouraged to evacuate and seek shelter.

Hurricane Harvey is expected to arrive late Friday, with heavy rains and maximum wind speeds of 120 miles per hour, and is predicted to be potentially the largest hurricane to hit the U.S. since 2005.
