The son of former national security advisor Michael Flynn on Wednesday dismissed the recent report that said he is a subject in the federal investigation into Russia’s election interference.

#FakeNews Media: ‘We're done covering those ‘pesky hurricanes’ right????...Back to Russia!’” Michael Flynn Jr. wrote on Twitter. “#Nothingburger.”

The report, published Wednesday by NBC News, said the focus on the younger Flynn has partly to do with the lobbying group Flynn Intel Group, which is owned by his father.

Michael Flynn Jr. was ousted from the Trump transition team last year over his public embrace of the so-called Pizzagate scandal, a theory that claimed without evidence a pizza shop in Washington, D.C., was a front for a child sex abuse ring run by Democrats.
