Howard Dean: Put Clinton Foundation in charge of Puerto Rico relief

Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean on Thursday slammed President Trump for having "no clue" how to lead the federal recovery effort in Puerto Rico, suggesting that the Clinton Foundation — run by the family of Trump's former opponent Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonGrassley blasts Democrats over unwillingness to probe Clinton GOP lawmakers cite new allegations of political bias in FBI Top intel Dem: Trump Jr. refused to answer questions about Trump Tower discussions with father MORE — handle it instead.

"What we should do is turn over the rehab of Puerto Rico to the Clinton Foundation. They know what they are doing. You have no clue," said Dean, a Hillary Clinton supporter.

Dean's tweet was in response to a comment made by President Trump earlier on Thursday in which he said that the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the military and first responders couldn't remain on the island "forever."

The Puerto Rican government says that nearly 90 percent of the island is still without power.

Trump in his tweets also mentioned the looming financial crisis for the territory, which was already facing insolvency before the massive hurricane caused billions of dollars worth of damage.
