The Mayor of Tampa, Fla., on Thursday predicted blue skies for most of the Republican National Convention — a day after saying that he would have no problem canceling the event to ensure safety if Tropical Storm Isaac threatened the city. 

Mayor Bob Buckhorn told Fox’s “America Live With Megyn Kelly” that wind and rain would not stymie the convention.

“Tampa will shine,” Buckhorn said. “We’ll have one day of probably rain and some wind and the remaining Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday ought to be just beautiful.”
