Blogs jumped on Rep. Geoff Davis (R-Ky.) for his remarks that included calling Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) "boy" and later having to apologize, as was reported by The Hill.
Marc Ambinder called the story "the outrage of the day" because as one liberal blogger pointed out "everyone knows what 'boy' means when it's said about a black man." Meanwhile, MyDD is telling its readers to "unite against GOP hate."
In other campaign news, Sen. John McCain's appearance at the AP's annual meeting drew a lot of criticism from liberal bloggers. For much of the afternoon, The Huffington Post led with the headline "Wake Up America! McCain Is A Right Winger!" Think Progress blogged the "drastic change" in McCain's stance on the economy after McCain admitted he believes the country is slipping into a recession.
Conservative bloggers focused on reports that Obama attended a Rezko fundraiser after Obama insisted he never met Rezko. RedState blogger Soren Dayton called the Rezko story "the gift the keeps on giving." Ed Morrissey over at Hot Air says the story will soon have Obama on the "defensive."
And mentions of Obama's "bitter" comment are finally starting to fade. Obama's Annie Oakley response is still getting play, but as Allahpundit notes "Obama was goofing on the idea of Her Majesty being a gunslinger...nothing more." Meanwhile the blogger who broke the story has become part of the story.
