The two conservative Republicans marked the opening day of pheasant hunting season in the Hawkeye state the morning after they attended the annual Reagan dinner.

Cruz delivered the keynote speech at the Iowa GOP’s annual Reagan dinner fundraiser in Des Moines on Friday night.

His increasing presence in the state that kicks off presidential primary season suggests he’s setting himself up for a presidential run in 2016.

During the 2012 election cycle, King hosted former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) and Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R).

The Iowa conservative tweeted Friday Cruz would also keynote his “Defenders of Freedom”event Saturday afternoon in LeMars, Iowa.
