Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said in an interview aired Sunday that's she still hopeful for her onetime pet cause of healthcare reform despite the setback posed by Democrats losing a supermajority in the Senate.
When asked by CNN's Candy Crowley if the struggle to pass a health reform bill was "deja vu," Clinton laughed.
"It's really hard," Clinton said. "It's a complex issue that touches everybody, but I haven't given up yet and I know the White House hasn't given up yet."
"I'm not sure this last chapter has been written," Clinton added.
When asked if she was offering advice on the Dems' healthcare push, Clinton demurred.
"It's not anything I have direct responsibility for but I've had a number of conversations with the White House and on the Hill," she said.
