Cruz: I will still support Trump if he's nominee

Cruz told reporters in St. Louis on Saturday his answer is the same: He will support whoever the nominee is, The Washington Post reported.

"My answer is the same, I committed at the outset, I will support the Republican nominee, whoever it is," Cruz said.

Trump’s campaign rallies have turned violent in recent days.  On Friday, Trump called off his rally in Chicago due to safety concerns over protests.

“When the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence, to punch people in the face, the predictable consequence of that is that it escalates," Cruz reportedly told reporters.

“And today is unlikely to be the last such instance.”
