Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) will be in the interesting position next Monday of introducing a Supreme Court nominee whom he hasn't yet decided to support.

Brown and Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) will both give introductory remarks at Kagan's confirmation hearing. It is tradition for a nominee's home state senators to introduce him or her. That's Massachusetts for Kagan, who was Dean of Harvard Law School until she joined the Obama administration.

Though Brown hasn't officially decided to cross the aisle and support Kagan, he had kind words for the nominee after meeting her last month:

Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) met with Elena Kagan this afternoon and took the opportunity to ask about her attempt to bar military recruiters from Harvard Law School.

"She answered it, I felt, very honestly, and it was very clear to me after we spoke about it at length that she is supportive of the men and women who are fighting to protect us and very supportive of the military as a whole," Brown told reporters after the meeting.

"I do not feel that her judicial philosophy will be hurting men and women who are serving," Brown added.
