DeMint: Graham 'wrong' on remark that Tea Party will 'die out'
Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) said that his fellow South Carolinian, Sen.
Lindsey Graham (R), is “wrong” to say that the Tea Party movement would
die out.
As part of a profile in the New York Times Sunday magazine, Graham
said that the Tea Party movement will "die out."
"I think it's just unsustainable
because they can never come up with a coherent vision for governing the
country," Graham said.
Graham
has often been at odds with conservative activists in his state, unlike
his fellow senator, DeMint, who is highly regarded by the Tea Party movement.
DeMint, who has backed Tea Party candidates, said about Graham’s statements on "Fox News Sunday": “He’s wrong on this.”
"The Tea Party is just the tip of the iceberg of an American
awakening of people that want to take back their government," DeMint
said.
