Biden: I wanted Russia to swap for Limbaugh
"What's at stake here is an entire way of life," he said. "These folks down in the bayou, they define themselves by what they do. And they're scared to death."
Biden cited a man he met there who had been working on a shrimp vessel since he was four years old.
"We are not going to rest until that way of life is restored and secured," he said.
Biden also weighed in on the President's decision to replace General Stanley McChrystal, who he called "a real warrior."
"The President had absolutely no choice. I contacted a group of four-star generals, asked their opinion. They all thought, in the chain of command, he had to go," Biden said.
The vice president also had some lighter moments when asked about the spy swap that traded Russian counter-intelligence embeds for American ones.
Leno pulled up a photo of Anna Chapman, the secret agent whose photo has been circulated because of her movie star looks.
"Let me make it clear," Biden said. "It wasn't my idea to send her back."
He added, "I thought maybe they'd take Rush Limbaugh."
