Obama hits golf course on heat wave weekend

By Sam Youngman - 07/25/10 01:04 PM ET

President Obama hit the golf course Sunday as the Washington region experienced a humid heat wave that pushed the heat index into the triple digits.

Obama left the White House shortly after noon for the links at Andrew Air Force Base. White House Trip Director Marvin Nicholson, presidential aide Ben Finkenbinder and campaign photographer David Katz were his playing partners.

The game was cut short by a strong thunderstorm, and Obama returned to the White House shortly after 4 p.m.

On Saturday, when a heat warning was in effect for the D.C. area, Obama shot hoops at Fort McNair's physical fitness center with presidential aide Reggi Love.

A National Weather Service heat advisory was in effect for the region until Sunday evening.

Obama is three weeks away from his vacation with the first family to Florida's Gulf Coast, after which the Obamas will spend time at Martha's Vineyard.

Livin' it up on the tax payers dime. Not to mention all of the carbon his adventurers put out into the atmosphere. With his wanton disregard for the atmosphere why should we care?
The elitist at leisure. Could be a coffee table photo book of Barry out spending taxpayer dough.

So, Obama plays golf again today and soon jaunts off to Martha's Vinyard to vacation and party with his billionaire pals. And this while 15 million Americans can't find a job, his Goldman Sachs campaign contributors get to keep their million dollar bonuses, and we are facing trillion dollar plus annual deficits. And this absolute fraud of a president has the nerve to play the populist card against Republicans.BY obama the fraud on 07/25/2010 at 14:07
Golf, golf, golf. He's an average golfer at best and we all know he's been practicing a lot lately. What does that tell you about his ability to fix the economy? He hasn't been working on that at all. He just gives us a little lip service every now and then. BY LIAMD2 on 07/25/2010 at 14:09
Obama's VP Joe Biden has a message for all you whinebaby Republicans who object to Obama's golfing outings: "Bite me." BY al on 07/25/2010 at 14:12
Good point Mick. We have to use one square of toilet paper, drive 2 cylinder plastic go carts, wear sweatshirts inside during winter, while elitists like Obama get to fly around in private jets, live in huge mansions and preach to us about "global warming." I am soooo sick of their crap.BY elite hypocrisy on 07/25/2010 at 14:13

Mitchele Obama better be checking these "so-called" golf outings out. What golfer leaves at noon, the hottest part of the day, to go play a round of golf? Telling you, girlfriend, there is something going on with your man that ain't quite right.BY partytime on 07/25/2010 at 15:25
