Report: Rangel's legal bills reach $1.8 million
Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) has spent $111,170 on lawyers over the past two months, according to the latest federal filings reported by the New York Daily News. The former Ways and Means chairman's legal bill for his ethics troubles stands at $1.8 million.
Rangel has been charged with 13 violations by the House ethics committee. He has vowed to fight the charges rather than step down and is expected to face a House trial when lawmakers return from the August recess.
