RNC looks to turn 'party of no' label against Democrats
Republicans sought to cast Democrats on Wednesday as the real "party of no," highlighting vulnerable Democratic incumbents who are now distancing themselves from their party's signature legislative accomplishments.
The Republican National Committee turned the "party of no" label against Democrats in a new Web video, which clips together several Democrats' campaign ads showing different members opposing healthcare reform, cap-and-trade legislation, the stimulus bill and other items.
The video is an unconventional appropriation of a Democratic criticism, and juxtaposes Obama's own words criticizing Republicans with the Democratic ads.
Democrats have repeatedly slammed the GOP as a "party of no" for having, by and large, opposed the stimulus, healthcare reform, Wall Street reform, the House climate bill and other top items on Democrats' agenda. Republicans, they charge, have offered no solutions.
