Former President Bill Clinton will travel to Ohio in mid-September to campaign for the state's governor, Ted Strickland (D), in his reelection bid against challenger John Kasich.
CNN reports that Clinton will appear at events in Cleveland and Columbus on Sept. 14.
Recent polls suggest that Strickland faces a tough challenge from Kasich, a former GOP representative who leads Strickland by more than 10 points. President Obama also raised money for the embattled governor during a visit to the state in mid-August.
The former president, meanwhile, has been active this election cycle, campaigning for Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) and Rep. Kendrick Meek (D-Fla.) in his bid for a Florida Senate seat.
