Pelosi's communications director to join PR, lobby firm
Brendan
Daly, communications director for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
(D-Calif.), will join a top public relations and lobby firm next month.
In January, Daly will join Ogilvy Washington as its executive vice president and national director for public affairs.
Daly
is an experienced communications hand for the Democrats. He was a
political appointee during the Clinton administration, doing
communications work for the Peace Corps and in the Office of the U.S.
Trade Representative. Daly began his Capitol Hill career working in the
office of the late Rep. Gerry Studds (D-Mass.).
In January, Pelosi will no longer be Speaker due to heavy
Democratic election losses this November that switched control of the
House to the Republicans. Pelosi will still be the top Democrat, however, since she was elected minority leader of the 112th Congress.
