A former senior Capitol Hill staffer and lobbyist who died in the aftermath of a car fire this week will be memorialized at a Washington, D.C., church on Friday.

The service for Ashley Turton, the ex-Progress Energy lobbyist and chief of staff to Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.), will be held at the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. Friday, according to the church.

Turton was found dead early Monday morning in the aftermath of a car fire in the garage of her Capitol Hill home. The Metropolitan Police Department has determined that the cause of the car fire was a low-speed crash, according media reports
