Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) appeared this week with former Rep. Mark Foley (R) to celebrate an office opening, according to a report.

Foley, who resigned in 2006 after facing allegations of sending sexually explicit text messages to congressional pages, introduced West at the opening of a district office, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Foley's been something of an embarrassing subject for Republicans. His resignation at the height of the 2006 election cycle helped contribute to the landslide victories for Democrats in the House and Senate that year.

The former congressman has been working to revive his public profile since then. He hosts a radio show in south Florida, and his appearance with West could help resurrect his public image.
