Issa taps former Daily Caller flack as new spokeswoman

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) has named a new spokeswoman to replace departed aide Kurt Bardella.

Issa, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, named Becca Glover Watkins, the former spokeswoman for The Daily Caller, to be the panel’s deputy press secretary.

Watkins's launch into the role comes as the committee's former deputy communications director, Kurt Bardella, was fired earlier this week for allegedly sending reporters' e-mails to a New York Times reporter without their knowledge.

Before working for Tucker Carlson’s website, Watkins worked with Matt Dornic at his media strategy company, 3 Dog Agency. Watkins also worked as an IT strategy consultant with the defense contracting giant, Booz Allen Hamilton.

Watkins is the sister of the prominent D.C. lobbyist Juleanna Glover, who served as a senior policy advisory to former Sen. John Ashcroft (R-Mo.) and former Vice President Dick Cheney’s press secretary during the 2000 presidential campaign.
