Huntsman to make first trip to New Hampshire

Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman will make a trip to New Hampshire, setting up a possible run for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012.

Southern New Hampshire University will host Huntsman, President Obama's ambassador to China and the former Republican governor of Utah, as its commencement speaker in May, a spokesman confirmed.

The speech will be Huntsman's first trip to the Granite State as a possible Republican presidential candidate. He departs as ambassador at the end of this month, and is said to be seriously considering a bid for the GOP nomination.

If Huntsman runs, he's expected to make a major push in New Hampshire, polls in which currently show that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has an early advantage in the first-in-the-nation primary.
