Former Biden chief of staff joins Third Way
Vice President Joe Biden's former chief of staff has joined the centrist Third Way think tank's Board of Trustees, the group announced Monday.
Ron Klain departed the White House at the end of January and has been serving as president of Case Holdings, an investment company, and as the general counsel for Revolution LLC.
Klain also served as chief of staff to then-Vice President Al Gore during the Clinton administration as well as working on Gore's presidential campaign.
“Politics and governing is ultimately about the battle of ideas, and with their brand of fresh thinking, Third Way has emerged as one of the most important voices in Democratic politics," Klain said in a statement. "During my latest two years in the White House, I saw first-hand how Third Way’s ideas have had an impact on the national debate. I am delighted to be playing an active role with an organization that I believe in.”
Klain was rumored to be in the running to replace interim White House chief of staff Pete Rouse but, in the end, Bill Daley was selected instead.
