House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) praised Rep. Anthony Weiner's decision to resign his congressional seat saying on Thursday that he "made the right judgment."

“Congressman Weiner exercised poor judgment in his actions and poor judgment in his reaction to the revelations," Pelosi said in a statement on Thursday.  "Today, he made the right judgment in resigning.

“I pray for him and his family and wish them well,” she continued.

Pelosi's statement came almost immediately after Weiner (D-N.Y.) announced his plans to resign from Congress amidst the scandal that began roughly three weeks ago.

The debacle began when it was revealed that Weiner sent a lewd picture of himself to a woman in Seattle. After initially denying sending the picture, Weiner eventually admitted to sending the photo and having "inappropriate" correspondence with roughly six women over the past three.

Since then Weiner faced increasing pressure from Republicans and his party's leadership to resign.

On Saturday, Pelosi called on Weiner to resign.
