Durbin addressed the Gang of Six proposal that was presented to the Senate today:  "Something happened this morning that was perhaps historic. We took our plan … and we invited every member of the United States Senate, Democrats and Republicans to come and listen to a description of the plan. You know what there were no fist fights, there was no swearing."
