National Economic Council Director Gene Sperling said it's more important to compromise and get results than to be in the same location.

"The issue is not how many times they meet together, the issue is getting a meeting of the minds that we need bipartisan compromise," said Sperling.

When asked about a possible recall of Washington, Sperling said no one worked harder on a grand bargain than the president. He called for compromise that involves tax reform and entitlement reform that contribute to deficit reduction.
