Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) did a better job than he did.

“It was probably better than mine. I didn't see it, but I'm sure it was better,” he joked. “How much water did she have?”

Rubio's response to Obama last year was widely mocked because of the repeated sips he took from a bottle of water.

Rubio told reporters at a breakfast hosted by The Wall Street Journal that he is looking to address his dehydration issues.

“I'm looking into an I.V.,” Rubio joked.

McMorris Rodgers, the first woman to deliver the GOP response to a State of the Union since Obama became president, was widely seen as having delivered a solid performance on Tuesday night.
